Trouble in Paradise

Oil on stretched canvas diptych

200 cm by 100 cm

This painting is a depiction of the myth of Adam and Eve. I have chosen to illustrate the tipping point, where the status quo is changed forever. In this myth, the result of previous actions became the advent of original sin.

Pieta

Oil on stretched canvas.

100cm by 100cm

Draws on depictions of the Pieta, particularly in sculptural works by Michelangelo and Bernini. It documents the unspeakable grief at the loss of a child, but in the mythic context, it is a story of sacrifice and salvation.

The Virtuous and the Beautiful (three Graces)

Print

60 cm x 60cm

The Three Graces are Greek goddesses of beauty, grace, and joy, typically depicted as three sisters named Aglaia (radiance), Euphrosyne (joy), and Thalia (abundance). They are associated with artistic inspiration, beauty in nature and art, and the concept of reciprocity and generosity. I have chosen three contemporary painters, putting my twist on the usual depictions of the Graces in art.
